Project 1: Flash Animation

Please read the requirements below to ensure you produce the highest quality work and earn top marks.  Read through all the lesson pages and watch the videos before you begin your project.
Criteria
  • Character based story
  • Full turn-around character design for main character(s)
  • Script & storyboards
  • Story should be simple yet engaging
  • Animation should closely follow planning
  • Made in Adobe Flash
  • 30-45 Seconds minimum length
  • Use cinematic story telling through appropriate shot selection (not just one shot)
  • Animation must conscious use of the Principles of animation
  • Use frame by frame and tweening techniques for convincing motion
  • 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080
  • Must have 1 use of a multiplane background
  • Title & credits must match style and theme of the animation (don't use film credits)
  • Must have full sound design: music, background, voice, design elements, sound effects
  • Exported as Quicktime
  • FIll out self-assessment
Assessment

The final mark will be a combined total of the teacher's score and from the students self assessment.  Weighting will be a 50/50 split.  Students are required to fill out and submit a self-assessment template to the teacher.
