Manual Mode Practice.. without the camera
Visit this website: http://www.canonoutsideofauto.ca/learn/
Read through the first page (this should take about 5 minutes), then select PLAY at the bottom or top of the page.
On the PLAY page, practice manipulating the settings to see what changes as you go through different adjustments. Use the light meter to judge your exposure. Try to capture properly exposed images with different effects such as motion blur, shallow depth of field, no motion blur, large depth of field, etc. The bar at the bottom of the page will show you the photos you have taken and will evaluate them for you. Pay attention to what it says to help improve your photos. This should take you around 10 minutes.
Once you feel like you have a good understanding of the settings, select CHALLENGE on the top of the page. Follow the given prompts and try to achieve the desired look for each photo. When you are done, take a screenshot of your results page**

If you did not do well, you can try again but you must post all of the results, not just your best ones. I want to see how you improved. You will post this on your website on your assignments page in a post called Manual Mode Simulation.
**To take a screenshot, hold down the Windows key (between Ctrl and Alt) and hit PrtScn (at the end of your F keys). The photo will be stored in My Pictures in a file called Screenshots. You can crop it so that it looks like the one above before you post it.
Once you finish this, you can go out into the school and practice taking photos in manual mode throughout the school
