Project 2: Stop Motion

Please read the requirements below to ensure you produce the highest quality work and earn top marks.  Read through all the lesson pages and watch the videos before you begin your project.

Criteria
  • Character based story
  • Full turn-around sheet for main created characters (This includes costume sketches)
  • Script & storyboards
  • Story should be simple yet engaging
  • Animation should closely follow planning
  • Made using one the acceptable stop motion methods listed
  • 60-90 Seconds minimum length
  • Use cinematic story telling through appropriate shot selection (not just one shot)
  • Use cinematic lighting for all shots
  • All frames should be in focus and properly exposed
  • Animation must conscious use of the Principles of animation
  • Must use a tripod for all shots
  • 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080
  • Sets/backgrounds should be clean and complement the characters and action
  • Title & credits must match style and theme of the animation (don't use film credits)
  • Must have full sound design: music, background, voice, design elements, sound effects
  • Exported as Quicktime
  • FIll out self-assessment
